I would be ecstatic if I could be your photographer! Let me tell you about my professional past and my personality to help you make your decision. If you like my portfolio and you find me sympathetic, we will hopefully meet in the near future.

I’m Dávid Bodrogi, but if you’re reaching out to me please just call me Dávid!

I’ve been interested in photography since I was a little kid, it’s a legacy my family and friends gave me. Photography, the magic of the moment, has captivated me since the first time someone has handed me a digital SLR camera when I was 8 or 9 years old. I looked at the images I captured over and over again, it was like an imprint of a frozen moment, a grimace, a smile, or a drop of tears. I grew up in youth camps and youth movements and found my company. It was here that I found a mentor figure, who is to this day very important to me and has helped and taught me a lot in photography (too). In 2010, I began a 2-year leadership training course that dealt with self-knowledge, group dynamics, leadership styles, communication, and psychology. After that, I worked for years at the Szarvas Jewish International Youth Camp as a youth leader (madrich) and also as a photographer. During the 2013/2014 school year, I had the good fortune to continue my studies on the west coast of the United States in Seattle. Since 2014, I have been a member of the National Association of Hungarian Journalists (MÚOSZ). Today, I have a decade of professional experience in various fields of photography. Over the years, I have taken a lot of photos at community and professional sporting events. I also produced architectural photos for exhibitions, which could be seen on the exhibition panels that I designed. Between 2016 and 2019, I was a student at Norwich University of the Arts studying Film and Moving Image Production. 2019 revolved around making my graduation film Tale of Life. Plenty of friends, acquaintances, and family also helped make the film. Well-known artists such as Péter Scherer, György Gazsó, and Mari Nagy also appeared in the film. I can’t wait to show the world what we’ve created with the best cast and crew in the world! But in the meantime, I want to take a lot more photos at weddings, events, and family sessions!

In my spare time, I listen to a lot of cult classics like the Queen, the Beatles, and AC / DC, but I don’t despise classical music either, be it Vivaldi or Edvard Grieg. I spend too much of my time with movies, especially Star Wars. I often get lost in a movie and learn something obscure about the structure, the making of, or other sides of a movie that hardly anyone knows, and certainly, most people are uninterested in. You can talk to me about any movie at any time, be it an abstract art house film or a popcorn movie like Star Wars! If I can’t watch a movie, the most likely reason is that three dogs, who just happen to be sitting around me all the time, are “discussing” things with each other or to me, way too loudly. When they’ve been “discussing” things for hours, it’s a little annoying, but I still love them! I spend a lot of time with the three over-grown puppies (two Vizsla and a Labrador), we have huge parties and rope pulling contests, and after these tiresome activities, they tend to climb into my lap especially the youngest, the “little” Vizsla.

I hope this short little story can paint a picture of who I am and what I’m like. I look forward to meeting you, getting to know each other, and talking about all this and more while taking photos!
